Job Description

The primary focus of the Software Development Manager is to ensure we rapidly develop high quality software components by applying cutting edge software engineering practices.  In this position, you will oversee the development, implementation, and execution of project plans, ensure scope and schedule are established for projects and assignments, and manage a team of engineering resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Product Mangers to define and prioritize the product deliverables
  • Establish software development best practices
  • Conduct regular review with management on program progress, risk assessment with proposed resolution alternatives in the delivery of complex, cross organizational and technologically challenging projects
  • Establish and drive program schedule, review, analysis, and monitor of all critical paths related to key deliverables
  • Provide leadership in generating cross product and project task plans, resource planning, identifying interdependencies and risk management plans

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • At least 5 - 10 years of experience in Software Development and 2 – 5 years in a leadership position
  • A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-reliant and motivated self-starter
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Experience with Web Services (SOA), Java, C#, .Net


Desired Skills

  • Experience with Agile software development methodology
