HP BladeSystem R&D Software Developers work with other system developers, partners, and customers to refine product requirements, define the software architecture, design product interfaces, and participate in the implementation.  Candidates will be a part of a software team during the design, implementation, integration, testing, and successful delivery of enterprise management software.  A strong Java background and knowledge of common build tools will enable the successful candidate to excel in this position.
 
This position is based in Austin, TX.


 

Education:
 

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent  Typically 4-6 years experience  -  Degree should be in a technical discipline (e.g., computer science, engineering, math, physics, etc.).


 
Experience and Skills
 
The successful candidate will have strong experience with all phases of software product development from concept to product delivery and five or more years experience in developing object-oriented data center management software applications.
 
The successful candidate will also have experience and skills in multiple of the following areas:
 
o    4+ years experience in multiple programming languages and technologies such as Java, C, C++, Perl, Shells Script/Korn Shell, etc. 
o    2+ years of experience in design and implementing of Web Services applications.
o    Working knowledge of management protocols, including WBEM, SNMP, SMI-S, and SMASH.
o    Familiarity with network management protocols, management interfaces, and data description languages (SNMP, XML, etc.)
o    Working knowledge of authentication protocols, including LDAP, Active Directory, and Kerberos.
o    Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Fluency in English.  Ability to write and communicate clear and concise technical information, requirements specifications, and project status.
o    Experience and proven success using Agile software development techniques.  A proven commitment to developing quality software.
o    Diverse technical and business knowledge and demonstrated ability to apply it to understanding and solving customer problems. 
o    Experience in working with customers to identify requirements or address customer issues.
o    Proven experience with delivery of multiple, successful software products.
