JAVA Developer Engineer at Robert Half Technology, East Windsor, NJ

Classification:  Software Engineer

Compensation:  $85,000.00 to $105,000.00 per year

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Build, extend and maintain Java applications to support growing business demand.

II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for requirements study, analysis, design, development, implementation and support of Java web applications that support the businesses needs.
Evaluate and recommend system architecture and project approach.
Evaluate, support and provide feedback to the software development lifecycle.
On time delivery of web application projects that meet required technical specifications
Interface with client software engineers and web admin during implementation and deployment process
Gather feedback from design and technical staff on web site development needs.
Evaluate and expand the company s use of emergent web technologies, to help maintain a competitive edge.
Conceptualize long-term needs of web development, and plan and manage related projects.
Meet with peers, supporting departments, and customers to develop a better understanding of how your skills can be best applied to provide customer value.
All other duties and responsibilities as deemed appropriate by management.

III. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong proficiency with Java, J2EE, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Oracle 9i and higher is required
Experience with JavaScript libraries (Prototype, Scriptaculous, jQuery) and concepts (AJAX) is a strong benefit
Experience with PLSQL (procedures, functions and etc) is a strong benefit
Environment and application experience including WebLogic 9+, Unix and shell scripting is a strong benefit
Experience with Struts 2, Struts MVC frameworks a strong benefit
Experience with Spring 2, Hibernate 3 highly valued
Excellent research and problem solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as a generalist toward results.

IV. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science preferred.

Prior Experience: 3-5 Years experience of hands-on coding and development of web applications.
