We are seeking Senior Java Developer for a full time, direct hire position in Columbia. This opportunity has a great technical and team environment as well as phenomenal benefits (33 days PTO, great 401k matching, bonus, great benefits at very low cost).The Java Developer designs, develops, and implements web-based Java applications and portlets to support business requirements. The Java Developer follows approved life cycle methodologies, creates design documents, documents code and performs program coding and testing. The Java Developer resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation, and works collaboratively with business and IT teams.
Of particular technical interest in this role is specific experience with Alfresco or jBPM (JBOSS).
Beyond that, as much technical exposure to the following will be beneficial.
Qualifications:
- Java, Sql, Ajax, Javascript, Jsp, Groovy, Grails, Xml
- Portal/portlet development and administration
- Strong object-oriented analysis and design skills
- Understanding of IT principles of application development (e.g. relational database concepts, object oriented design and development)
- Understanding of HTTP and TCP/IP protocols
- Familiarity with Oracle 9i, 10G and PostgreSQL
- Knowledge/experience with Jasper, iText and other open source libraries
- Excellent analytical, problem identification/resolution and communication skills.
- Able to work well under pressure and work on tasks simultaneously
- Able to focus on detail as well as abstract concepts and corporate strategic direction
- Able to work in a team environment
- Able to work with little supervision, be self-directed and motivated and make independent, responsible decisions about work activities
