Apex Industrial Technologies, a rapidly growing Mason, Ohio technology innovator, is seeking candidates for the position of Senior Java Developer who will become a major team player of the development team for an enterprise technology platform that manages Internet-based Industrial Vending solutions, RFID Cabinets and Sensor-driven Point-of-Work systems and Supply Chain solutions.

The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic J2EE expert with gound-work design and implementation experience on Java enterprise architecture and application development in a transaction-intensive, high-volume, and secure distributed environment. This individual will report directly to CTO, working together with an Application Architect, Analysts and a group of experienced engineers in an Agile development environment including offshore/onshore team members and consultants. Requires 8+ years Java EE systems development experience on Weblogic or WebSphere or JBOSS.
 
Experience with large financial services platforms, e-commerce platforms and messaging middleware platforms will be a plus. Effective communication skills and team work required.  BS required. MS is preferred.  Require US citizenship or permanent resident ship.  

 

 

Responsibilities of Senior Java Developer

 

 

  • Review programs developed by offshore team and provide comment, feedback and suggestions to Application Architect and other developers.
  • Participate in the daily design and implementation activities of core subsystems for new features, enhancements and revisions.     
  • Design and deploy performance testing, transaction testing and debug core subsystems and implement bug fixes and provide feedback and suggestions to Application Architect and other developers for best practices.   
  • Be a domain expert in the J2EE systems implementation in all areas including business logic processes, database connection issues, network connection issues, concurrent programming and critical sections implementation, distributed transactions, and overall system performances for the enterprise technology platform. 
  • Support the enterprise platform as needed and provide instant hot-fixes for critical issues as needed.    
  • Refine business requirements and process flows and combine the collective thoughts into the application specifications for offshore team or internal team and work with Analysts to test and review the implementation and prepare for production releases.
  • Participate in the production release activities as needed.
  • Some off hours support required.   
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the job.  Limited travel.








 

Required Skills and Experience

 

  • Expert Experience in Enterprise Application Architecture with a master level knowledge of OOD, design patterns, data modeling, messaging, session, Java Serialization, Java persistence, XML, JSON, SOAP, SOA, JavaMail, Web Services, Restful Web Services, Struts framework and related Java EE technologies.
  • Expert Experience in transactional middleware implementation, high-volume Oracle database applications, JDBC transactions, JDBC connection pools, concurrent programming issues, and critical section implementations in a leading J2EE environment like WebSphere or Weblogic application servers.
  • Experience in JSP, HTML, JavaScripts, Ajax, jQuerry, Web 2.0 programming and efficient web front end designs.
  • Network programming experience with TCP/IP,  HTTP/HTTPS streams with XML, JSON and text messages. 
  • Experience with large scale enterprise Java EE application development. Ability to create technical specifications, architecture diagrams, network diagrams, dada models, object diagrams, process flows and application development artifacts.
  • Experience with Agile Software Development practices with a team of more than 10 people.
  • Experience in use of JIRA, Confluence, Subversion and Visual Source Safe in an agile development environment.
  • Ability to research new technologies and create conceptual models or solutions and present them to high-level audience cross business, applications and technology domains.   
  • Excellent communication, documentation skills plus team leadership skills.
  • Experience with MyEclipse Java IDE,  Struts 2, DAO, OpenSoure Frameworks, QUARTZ, JavaMail, Java XML processing APIs, Java Network Programming APIs and Java I/O Programming APIs, Java Collection Frameworks and all major Java APIs.
  • Experience with Java application servers like WebSphere Application Servers and Weblogic. Knowledge of digital certificates, Java cryptography APIs, server certificate configurations and server environment setup.
  • Understanding of system scalabilities, application layers, system securities and data securities in a distributed environment.
  • Master level knowledge of SQL language, triggers, views, stored procedures and complex SQLs under Oracle, SQL Servers or other RDBMS systems.
  • Experience with Windows Systems, Linux, Unix Operating Systems. Experience in setting up environment, VPNs, Remote Desktop, Web Conferencing and Distributed Development Environment. 
  • Experience with C/C++ and gcc tool chains in a Linux environment is a plus.
