SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION
Join a new, quickly growing line of our business as a software engineer with a focus in UI development. Were looking for developers with strengths in web and database technologies to work in tandem with experts in distributed network and host-based intrusion detection and network traffic analysis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with consultants to provide rapid prototyping of internal web-based analysis capabilities.
Analyze customer needs, map needs to product features and requirements.
Follow established product development guidelines, tailored for internal deployments.
Develop depth of knowledge in underlying technologies and processes across security functions.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
Knowledge of development languages prevalent in web development (e.g. Ruby, PHP, JavaScript, etc.).
Experience with web frameworks and toolkits for abstraction and presentation (e.g. CSS, JQuery, CodeIgniter, etc.).
Experience with modern SOA data exchange technologies/methodologies (e.g. JSON, XML, DOM, XSLT, REST, etc.).
Experience using a LAMP (or equivalent) stack with a focus on prototyping, database modeling, standards-based presentation.
Strong understanding of data management, abstraction, and modeling; familiarity with SQL (i.e. MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
Working knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP fundamentals.
Working knowledge of network based services and client/server applications.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS THAT WILL DISTINGUISH CANDIDATES
Background in developing scalable software systems for management of large data sets.
Expertise in data visualization.
Background in operational information security disciplines.
(e.g. incident response, security infrastructure management, or monitoring services)
Experience with additional programming languages (e.g. C, C++, C#, Java)
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
BS or equivalent degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
5+ years experience in hands-on technical work.
